Why print Mormon letters?

I have only been an N.C. Baptist for about three years. I read the Biblical Recorder as soon as it comes. I realize N.C. Baptists are a very fractured group and it is difficult to report on all the issues but the "Tar Heel Voices" of the April 26 (printed) issue left me quite puzzled.

Two questions come to mind: 1) What are Mormons doing reading a news journal of North Carolina Baptist? 2) Why would a news journal of North Carolina Baptists print three letters from Mormons who are not even from North Carolina in a section called "Tar Heel Voices?"

I don't think we need out-of-state Mormons to remind us that they try to point out similarities to the Christian religion rather than point to the doctrines that are in opposition to orthodox Christianity.

Let me recommend the North American Mission Board (NAMB) DVD, The Mormon Puzzle. In this 75-minute DVD you will hear from current or recent Mormon leaders. You can view the trailer on the NAMB web site. There is enough evidence from the mouths of the Latter-day Saints leaders to show the fundamental differences in Mormons and Orthodox Christians.
