I could not believe you gave all this coverage to the so-called "New Covenant" Baptist organization. Do you not have the spiritual discernment to see through what was taking place?
Carter does not have the complete handle on social ministries and bringing together people. It's our goal to feed a hungry man and then tell him about Jesus.
Southern Baptist people have the goodness of God in our hearts that constrains us to meet the needs of people just as much as he does. But the fine line here seems to be that love for people and maintaining doctrinal purity go hand in hand and Carter can't get a hold on that.
This attitude is also expressed in a conversation I had with a member of a Baptist church whose piano player was gay. I asked, "How can you allow that?" The comment was made that you have to love people whoever they are. I do love people, but when the heart is changed the lifestyle changes period. That person could not grasp the meaning of my statement.
Carter's attitude seems to be that Southern Baptists were the ones who brought the woman caught in adultery to Jesus to be stoned. And no doubt when you invite a president who supports a woman's right to abortion and who placed a veto on the partial birth abortion bill and then he comes to talk about Christian principles, how could any true biblical Christian be deceived by this so-called new covenant?
