Observations from SBC meeting

North Carolina Baptists were strongly present at the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) annual meeting. Both the reigning president and the newly elected president are originally from North Carolina and are doing a fine job in the mission fields of South Carolina and Georgia in which they are serving.

Finds editorial confusing

The editorial on the task force ministry presentation to the Board of Directors meeting is quite confusing. Do you believe the younger generation of N.C. Baptist women think it's bizarre that they want to be a part of the vision of N.C. Baptists (emphasis on evangelism and new church starts) and in cooperation with them and the Convention?

Concern over CLPA direction

After reading the article about the recent Baptist State Convention Board of Directors meeting concerning the report of the Christian Life and Public Affairs Committee (June 7 issue) I am quite concerned. Ron Varner's statements trouble me and raise some questions that cry out for answers.
