No cancer found during Mohler's colon surgery

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - As expected, a tumor removed from the colon of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary President Al Mohler proved not to be cancerous, according to a seminary news release.

While reading on the beach at dusk, I noticed a crowd gathered around an emergency vehicle. Curious, I headed toward the scene. A young man was being lifted onto a stretcher when a woman fled the crowd, ran toward me, and sank into my arms, exhausted. Perfect strangers, we embraced.

When I served in children's ministry, I was intentional about structuring each programming year around the Christian calendar. The children looked forward to Pentecost Sunday because they knew that we would be having a party. I encouraged parents to dress their children in red clothing. When they arrived at church, the children were greeted in a room filled with red balloons, streamers, and table decorations.
